PARK is a sound art event which evolves in transit from Dublin to Drogheda. It is an investigation into space and time in peripheral spaces that we regularly travel through to reach a different destination. PARK encompasses an auditory bus journey from Dublin to Drogheda, an interactive sound piece, video and audio installations. Tickets for the bus journey are free but places are limited and will require prior booking via Eventbrite (details to be circulated).
The event will take place on the 22nd of April. The bus journey departs at 6.15pm from The Custom House in Dublin and requires a free ticket, with prior booking to the event. The eventbrite link will be circulated closer to the date via the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1763516887298580/ .
Although places to the bus journey are limited, the event in Clarke's car park in Drogheda is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. There will be audio and video installations on site and refreshments will be served. Funders will recieve their Fund it reward when they arrive. If funders cannot attend then their reward will be delivered to their chosen address (within Ireland).
I have completed similar projects throughout my Master's, however this one is significantly larger in scale. It has required more time, collaborators, organisation and finances but I am excited to open it to the public in April. As a student, sponsorship will allow me to realize this event, as the concluding project to my Master's degree both in kind and financially.
300- materials: railway sleepers, steel conduit, media players.
230- payment of bus hire.
130- printing of posters, brochures, CD cases, etc.
140- food and drink reception.
The main challenges I have faced during this project have been time and finance related. However, with your help it will give me more time to focus on the completion of artworks and other logistics of the event.
I want to thank everybody who has encouraged and helped me, in many ways, throughout my Master's. I greatly appreciate any support you can give and I hope to see you on the night.
